Community searches for man who raped three girls

Residents of Omojoda Community in the Adamo, Ikorodu area of Lagos have organised a search party to apprehend a middle-aged man, identified as Segun, aka Mago, who allegedly raped three girls before fleeing the area. It was learnt that the police at the Sagamu Road Division and the Area N Command, Ijede, where the residents reported the matter, have also launched a manhunt for the suspected rapist. our correspondent gathered that the suspect, after allegedly raping his victims, cleaned the mess with a white handkerchief before bringing the girls back home.

Police ASP rapes student

The Officer-in-charge of the Osiele Police Post, Abeokuta, Ogun State, John Mafoya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, has been arrested and is being quizzed at the state police command headquarters for allegedly raping a student of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, identified simply as Oluwaseun. PUNCH Metro learnt that Mafoya was arrested after some students of the college reported the matter at the Odeda Police Division. The case was afterwards transferred to the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta. Our correspondent gathered that on Thursday, April 30, policemen from the Osiele post arrested Oluwaseun for her involvement in a mob attack on a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps in the college, identified only as Oladimeji. The attack by students was reportedly carried out on the NYSC member because he allegedly made sexual advances at a female student, who had visited him in his apartment in the Abule Obantoko area of Abeokuta. The Kaduna State Governor-elect, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, says it will be a wishful thinking for anybody to believe that he will share public fund to individuals or groups in the state after May 29.He said his administration would not condone the sharing of public funds to anybody in the name of godfather or group, no matter how highly placed.Rather than doing that, el-Rufai said the state resources would be judiously utilised for the development of the state and the people.This was just as the governor-elect said that the debt profile of the state would run into N100bn before the May 29 hand over date.

Iara, the newly wedded wife of Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state, has performed her first official role as the first lady of the state, less than 24 hours after her wedding. Iara in the company of her husband presented trophies and medals to winners at the Okpekpe Road Race. Tanui Aifele and Alex Korio both from Kenya, took the female and male titles of the 3rd edition of the 10 kilometer Okpekpe Road Race, after finishing in 33.34 and 29.20 minutes in their respective categories.
