Mourinho sends Allardyce thank you text after the victory over Manchester City
Jose Mourinho can't stop heating up the premier league. This time around he has congratulated West Ham boss Sam Allardyce for defeating Manchester City at Upton park on
Saturday. Sam Allardyce revealed that Jose Mourinho sent him a thank you text, after the victory on Saturday.
Morgan Amalfitano put the Hammers ahead with a simple finish, before Diara Sakho doubled the home side’s lead in the second half, nodding in Aaron Cresswell’s cross.
Although David Silva curled in an exquisite goal, Allardyce’s men held on to claim a famous victory and stay ahead of the Premier League champions on the log.
“Jose has just texted me to say ‘Well done big man’. This shows how important it was for him, never mind for us,” Allardyce told beIN Sport.
“He goes to Manchester United knowing his team will go and perform at their best and if they win it makes the gap even bigger. The result wasn’t for him. It was for us and everyone at West Ham. It will benefit him if they go and get a result at Manchester United.”
Chelsea have a chance of going eight points clear at the top, if they beat Manchester United on Sunday afternoon
