Tragedy struck yesterday in Benin city, as a church building under demolition collapsed, killing three persons. According to a report on Vanguard a storey building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God located at Usama street, Uzebu quarters in Benin City collapsed. The Edo state Police Commissioner, Folunso Adebanjo who was at the scene expressed shock over the incident, saying that the Command would investigate the cause of the incident. As at the time of filling this report, a dead body was recovered from the debris but two persons were still trapped inside the building which served as offices and residential building to officials of the church. Saturday Vanguard learnt that nine workers hired at N3000 per day were working in the building but three went out to eat before the building collapsed.
