Police spokesman Mba, among five officers promoted to top ranks by IG Abubakar

Nigeria Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, a name which will not be strange to our regular readers, was Tuesday, promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.
Mba’s previous rank was Chief Superintendent of Police.
Mba, who has a law degree from the University of Lagos, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002, hails from Ezimo in Udenu local government of Enugu and was the best graduating cadet inspector in academics at the Police Academy, Kano, in 1993.
He rose up the police hierarchy, becoming an assistant superintendent of police in 1999, a deputy superintendent of police in 2003, a superintendent of police in 2006 and chief superintendent of police in 2012. He was the substantive police public relations officer at the Lagos police command, from 2007 to 2011.
Other senior officers decorated with new ranks were Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Grace Chita Okudo, Commissioner of Police (CP) Elias Okafor Wayemeru, CP Henry Adebayo Fadairo and ACP Yusuf Chiromawa Usman.
While congratulating the newly-promoted officers, IG Mohammed Abubakar, emphasised the need for increased commitment in the ongoing fight against terrorism and other forms of criminality.
He charged the officers to justify their elevation by rededicating themselves to their core mandate and the advancement of the positive image of the force.
