Chelsea Makes £16m Bid for Nigeria Star Emmanuel Emenike
Chelsea have launched a £16m bid for Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
Emenike, 27, has impressed for Nigeria at the World Cup so far, catching the eye of Blues boss Jose Mourinho, who is desperate to revamp his front line.
The Londoners are still chasing Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, whose £32m move to Stamford Bridge is expected to go through this summer, but remain in the hunt for more firepower.
Emenike has fueled the speculation, telling reporters: "I have always dreamed of playing in England.
"If I get the opportunity to play in England - I wouldn't turn it down."
The frontman joined the Turkish giants last summer from Spartak Moscow and fired 12 goals in 28 games for the Yellow Canaries as they reclaimed the Super Lig title from rivals Galatasaray.
The Blues have already lost Samuel Eto'o this summer and reports continue to link fellow frontmen Fernando Torres and Demba Ba with moves away from the club.
A move to West London would see Emenike link up with fellow Super Eagles' stars Victor Moses, Kenneth Omeruo and John Obi Mikel.
Stephen Keshi's men travel to Brasilia on Monday to face France in the last 16.
