Fellow Nigerians, I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure. Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.

The Rivers state government yesterday declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state with effect from Monday 30th March 2015. In a statement signed by the,George Feyii, Secretary to the state government said consequently, residents in the state are by this announcement advised to observe the declaration of the from the hours of 7:00 pm – 6:00 am to forestall any break down of law and order in the state and to ensure protection of lives and property of law abiding citizens. This curfew will subsist until further notice.

The All  Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, yesterday, accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of conspiring with the Army, Police and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to rewrite last Saturday’s National Assembly elections results and announced a falsified one in favour of the PDP. A member of Board of Trustees, BoT of APGA, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, who made the accusation in a telephone chat with newsmen, said the results announced yesterday by INEC which gave PDP victory in all the three senatorial zones and 11 House of Representatives seats, was exactly the opposite of what APGA scored during the exercise.

The police in Lagos have arrested an 18-year-old lady, Kafayat Olawale, for allegedly stabbing to death her boyfriend, Ojo Ijabike, 32. The incident happened on Friday on Olutola Adebayo Street, off Idimu Road, in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.

The Buhari Support Organisations has called for the arrest of Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, the Director, Media, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, for announcing unofficial results. The Independent National Electoral Commission has set up a three-man ‎committee to investigate alleged irregularities in the polls conducted in Rivers State on Saturday. ‎The committee has as its Head, Mrs. Thelma Iremirem, who is the Supervisory National Commissioner for Rivers; and Col. M.K Hammanga along with Prof. Lai Olurode, as members.

The result is as follows: Registered voters- 2,324,300 Total number of accredited voters: 1,643,409 Total valid votes: 1,555,462 Rejected votes: 19,306 Result: APC 60, 238 PDP 1,487 075

The table above shows that President Jonathan has won Gen Buhari in Nasarawa State. Although not yet official, but these are the results collated from the thirteen local government areas of the State.

Three adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Benue State were reported to have died,  in the course of election duties in the state. The Resident Commissioner of INEC in the state, Prof. Istfanus Dafwang, made this known yesterday while briefing reporters at the state headquarters of INEC in Makurdi.

A four-year-old boy, identified as Paul, and his sister, 1 year, have been burnt to death after fire gutted a bungalow in the Igbo-Efon, Lekki area of Lagos State. The incident happened around 5am on Saturday.

The police in Lagos have arrested two men for allegedly tearing campaign posters and defacing the banners of the state’s governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Agbaje. ABUJA-DIRECTOR of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has dismissed the allegation by the All Progressives Congress that the PDP was planning to rig elections in Adamawa State.

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) has trounced President Goodluck Jonathan in Saturday’s elections conducted inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Commonwealth Observer Group said on Saturday that it would issue an interim statement on the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Monday. The leader of the group and former Malawian president, Bakili Muluzi, said this in a statement he issued in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced this morning that it's website has been hacked. ‎INEC made this known through its Twitter account, @INEC_Nigeria. It said it has begun investigation into it.

President Idris Deby of Chad has spoken publicly about the 2014 botched ceasefire between the Nigerian government and the jihadist group, Boko Haram, which he was said to have facilitated. The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ali Olanusi, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party Thursday morning, has given reason for his action. In a statement Thursday afternoon, Mr. Olanusi said he decided to join the All Progressives Congress after realising that the party offers a platform where he can find justice, fairness and equity.

The co-pilot of the doomed Germanwings Airbus A320 locked his captain out of the cockpit before deliberately crashing into a mountain to 'destroy the plane', it was sensationally revealed today. French prosecutor Brice Robin gave further chilling details of the final ten minutes in the cockpit before the Airbus A320 plunged into the French Alps killing 150 people. Revealing data extracted from the black box voice recorder, he said the co-pilot - named as 28-year-old German Andreas Günter Lubitz - locked his captain out after the senior officer left the cockpit.

A national leader of the All Progressive Congress Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday said if he were as ambitious as the Peoples Democratic Party portrays him to be, he would have broken up the party. Mr. Tinubu said he pulled out of the race for the vice presidential ticket of the APC voluntarily, for the sake of the party. The PDP campaign organisation had also accused Mr. Tinubu of signing a pact with the party’s vice presidential candidate, Yemi Osinbajo, that should the party win the March 28 election, he (Osinbajo) will step down for Mr. Tinubu six months into their administration.

Evidence from a cockpit voice recorder recovered from the Germanwings flight 4U9525 that crashed on Tuesday suggests that one pilot left the cockpit before the plane’s descent and was unable to get back in, according to two separate reports. French air accident investigators say they have extracted a recording that contains “voices and sounds” from the cockpit of the plane before it crashed in the Alps, killing all 150 people on board. A senior military official involved in the investigation told the New York Times that there was a “very smooth, very cool” conversation between the two pilots during the early part of the flight from Barcelona to Düsseldorf.
